ABOUT ME
Prudence Brooks (she/her) is a tender and strange poet born in rural Indiana, now happily nestled among the pines of Portland, Oregon. A queer, disabled woman living with AuDHD, Prudence considers her poetic voice more than a passion — it is a form of unmasking in a world that commands her to assimilate. She is the author of two poetry collections, TRUCE and SAVED, and serves as the grubby-toed host of the Roach Reading Club on Patreon. Her work has appeared in Pile Press, Feral Journal of Poetry and Art, Eunoia Review, Querencia Press, Black Fox Literary Magazine, Grey Coven Publishing, and others. You can find her on Instagram @prudence.writes or explore her Patreon at the links in the footer.

TESTIMONIALS
-
"Prudence makes a conscious effort to enhance your poem while making sure your voice stays intact. I've sent her a range of poems so far, and none of her suggestions have ever felt like something I couldn't imagine myself saying."
Cypher Amalan

"Two things to note about Prudence: she has a giving soul, and she actually cares about the people in her community. She's helped me shape my work so that I can improve my skills, while also preserving my voice."

"I was full of trepidation - not from Prudence - because I am a delicate flower but I did it and have zero regrets. Prudence's feedback and suggestions were supportive, encouraging, and extremely helpful!”
